  19. Description of Working Group:
  20. The OSI-DS Group works on issues relating to building an OSI Directory
  21. Service using X.500 and its deployment on the Internet.  Whilst this
  22. Group is not directly concerned with piloting, the focus is practical,
  23. and technical work needed as a pre-requisite to deployment of an open
  24. Directory will be considered.

  26.  Goals and Milestones: 
  27.  
  28.   Ongoing Maintain a Schema for the OSI Directory on the Internet.             
  29.  
  30.   Ongoing Liaisons should be established as appropriate.  In                   
  31.           particular:  RARE WG3, NIST, CCITT/ISO IEC, North American           
  32.           Directory Forum.                                                     
  33.  
  34.      Done Definition of a Technical Framework for Provision of a Directory     
  35.           Infrastructure on the Internet, using X.500.  This task may later be 
  36.           broken into subtasks.  A series of RFCs will be produced.            
  37.  
  38.      Done Study the relationship of the OSI Directory to the Domain            
  39.           Name Service.
